Our Core Values

The Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace (CCJP) of the Archdiocese of Blantyre is a social arm of the Catholic Church which was founded by the Catholic Bishops of Malawi in 1995.

CCJP's objectives

Endeavoring to be true Christian witness of social justice.

Networking with government and other organizations who labor to promote social justice, human rights, democracy and good governance, integral development and conservation of the environment.

To participate in a program of self and community education centered around the biblical and theological perception of social justice, in-depth study of the social teaching of the church and its interpretation of the social justice, an analysis of social, economic, ecological, cultural and religious realities of our communities, our country and the world at large.

Governance Structure

The Commission is under the legal mandate of His Grace, the Archbishop Thomas Luke Msusa,who is the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Blantyre. Below him is the Social Directorate Board. Below the board is the Secretariat which is headed by a Coordinator. Below the Secretariat are Deanery and Parish CCJP Committees and then out church CCJP Committees.
