Our strategic mission

The Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace (CCJP) of the Archdiocese of Blantyre is a social arm of the Catholic Church which was founded by the Catholic Bishops of Malawi in 1995. We promote justice, peace and human rights for all citizens through, civic education, advocacy, empowerment, capacity building, environmental justice, research and documentation in accordance to the gospel values and the Catholic Social Teachings.

CCJP Animators

There are 8 Deanery CCJP Committees which are Phalombe, Mulanje, Thyolo, Nguludi, Limbe, Blantyre, Lunzu and Mwanza Deaneries. In total there are 43 CCJP Parish Committees. Thus at each parish there is a well-established CCJP Committee. Both Deanery and Parish CCJP committees comprise members of various skills. There are dedicated teachers, business people and many other professions. These CCJP animators are involved in various programs initiated by the secretariat in their communities.

We are faith based organization inspired by the gospel values and the social teachings of the church (STC) that promotes integral human development, economic and political governance, gender and development, social justice, capacity building and empowerment of the less privileged in society especially poor women and children.
