The project responds to Lot 1 of the EU Call: Follow up and analysis of key budget cycle events at a national and local level

Project Goal: enhanced capacity of CSOs, media, high spending MDA and local government authorities of the seven districts in Malawi that will lead to increased transparency and accountability in PFM.

Specifically, the action will result in effective budget tracking and scrutiny of public procurement and expenditure by CSOs and media with a view of demanding accountability from duty bearers

PROJECT OUTCOMES

• Outcome I :Strengthened capacity of CSOs and Media organisations to analyze and report on public expenditure of high spending MDAs and Local Government Authorities.
• Outcome II: Enhanced coordination, collaboration and learning among CSOs and Media working on budgeting and public procurement processes at national level.
• Outcome III: Increased dialogue and exchange of information on public expenditure between Local Government Authorities and citizens.
